When I joined the product team, the Proof of Concept (PoC) had already been developed, incorporating valuable user feedback. The founders had a clear, high-level vision for the product, but it lacked sufficient detail and depth in certain areas. My role involved building on this foundation by refining the vision, filling in the gaps, and ensuring that the product's direction was both user-centric and technically feasible. This included defining Information Architecture, creating Service Blueprints, and developing a Design System to bring clarity and structure to the product's development process.
In addition to defining the Information Architecture, creating Service Blueprints for key areas, and building a Design System, the Service Blueprints played a pivotal role in our process. Initially, we lacked well-defined requirements for the engineering team. However, through the development of the Service Blueprints, we achieved the necessary level of clarity and detail. This not only guided the design process but also provided a solid foundation for crafting the Product Requirements Document (PRD), ensuring alignment across teams and a smoother development phase.
The redesign addressed key UX problems including poor structure, hidden features, and outdated visuals. Navigation was reorganized for clarity, data tables and tabs were enhanced for better usability, and recognitions and transfers became easier to manage. A scalable design system was introduced, bringing consistency, mobile support, and a foundation for future growth.
